Kevin’s journey to health and fitness started in 2008 at M.U.N. – Grenfell Campus where he started studying current food industry practices, their impact on health and what alternatives are available to improve health. It wasn’t all work and no play; he also went backpacking, rock climbing, caving, paddling and snowboarding in Gros Morne National Park, Marble Mountain and the Corner Brook area.
In 2014, Kevin completed his CrossFit Level 1 Certification course to become a CF-L1 trainer after 6 years of participating in the “Sport of Fitness.” Since then he’s been helping people improve their strength, stamina, flexibility, stability and fitness through customizable workouts ranging from cardiovascular exercises, weight training and stretching to outdoor activities that adapt to any fitness level and goal.
Finally, in 2017 he graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition (CSNN) as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (RHN). He uses his fitness and nutrition background to find the best exercises and foods to inspire healing and maintaining wellness throughout life at any age.
Kevin was a fitness coach at in Moncton, NB before moving to Ottawa for Holistic Nutrition training in 2016. Shortly after arriving in Ottawa began coaching at a fitness studio and has been helping people improve their health ever since. He has also worked in a variety of restaurants within Canada and Germany in the past 10 years while experimenting with recipes from around the globe at home.
Nutrition is a large portion of fitness training and becoming a Registered Holistic Nutritionist has only made Kevin more capable of making the right food choices to help improve overall health as well as athletic performance.
Why I love what I do
Being an educator in fitness, health and outdoor activities has always been a source of joy and accomplishment throughout my life and I enjoy sharing those experiences with others. Hearing how people have accomplished physical feats that were not possible before while experimenting with new foods and trying new things are some of the highlights that I cherish and want to be a part of.
In his spare time, Kevin enjoys CrossFit, cycling, rock climbing and going out on the water with a standup paddle board, a canoe or kayak. When not going activities, you can usually find him eating food from new places or trying different recipes out in his house.
