BONUS! FOR SUPPORTING IMMUNITY IN YOUR HOME OR OFFICE
Juniper Therapeutic Essential Oil
Juniper oil can be used for sore throats, respiratory infections, fatigue, muscle aches, and arthritis. In fact, for years French hospitals burned juniper and rosemary to help protect patients against lingering bacteria and infections.
How to use it:
Diffuse – add to your humidifier to keep it clean or in your diffuser to help keep the air clean
Topically – dilute always in a 1:1 ratio with a carrier oil such as coconut or jojoba oil and apply directly to the skin after blending with the carrier oil.
Internally – only with high-quality therapeutic-grade oil check manufacturer label to ensure that it is food grade.
Caution– This one is not noted as food grade so check your local health food store for internal use options. Do not use juniper berry oil if you are pregnant, breast feeding or if you have a kidney or liver condition.
Diffusers
Diffusers are great to dispense essential oil vapors into the air to purify and diffuse a pleasant aroma into your room. I liked this one, although a touch more expensive as pineapples are a symbol of welcome, celebration, and hospitality something that we can all enjoy! Other less expensive options are available on line for a budget-friendly fix. Note- although they do increase humidity in the air, it is not enough to be significant. For increasing room humidity, a humidifier is recommended.
Humidifiers
Humidifiers add moisture to the air, which can benefit people with respiratory symptoms or dry skin, and diffuse essential oils for an added benefit. Humidity helps reduce the risk of spread of viral infections by thinning mucus allowing the epithelial cells called cilia to move mucus to promote the clearance of pathogens and particles that enter the respiratory system. Ideally your room should be 40-60% humidity to reduce the risk of infections. I like this one because it’s 6L large capacity works in an office, bedroom or small living room and has a warm and cool mist option.
